Institutions and companies

Already in the phase of the project preparations there were no doubts that a single institution cannot excavate the area of 1,5 hectare alone. Taking into account demands of the investor - EURO-PROPERTY FUND, Ltd., the preparatory negotiations within the Prague archaeological committee finally accepted the idea of tight collaboration of the chief project guarantor company Archaia o.s. (PhDr. Petr Juřina, Mgr. Jiří Valkony) and company Archaia o.p.s. (Mgr. Vojtěch Kašpar, PhDr. Jaromír Žegklitz) with two other institutions having rich experience with urban archaeology: National heritage institute - Prague branch (Mgr. Jaroslav Podliska, Mgr. Martin Omelka, Mgr. Jan Havrda) and public advantage company Archaia Brno o.p.s. (Mgr. Peter Kováčik). Division of the excavated area into "institutional sections" reduced the load of work and offered at the same time desirable different points of view on examined settlement area. Together with this we took the advantage to standardize our methods regarding the problems of the medieval and later urban development. In the research took part also colleagues Mgr. Karel Nováček, PhDr. Pavel Vařeka, PhD., Mgr. Jan Turek from the Department of Archaeology of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, further Mgr. Petr Kočár and Mgr. Libor Weiter from public advantage company ZIP o.p.s. (environmental analysis, archaeobotany, osteology) , RNDr. Jan Zavřel (geology), Jan Růžička (geodesy, photogrammetry, IT center), PhDr. Luboš Lancinger and Mgr. Kateřina Hanzlíková (archive search and constructional-historical analysis).

Students from the following university departments took part in the field excavation: Department of Archaeology of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen; Institute for Prehistory and Early History and Institute for Classical Archaeology of the Philosophical Faculty, Charles University in Prague; Institute of Archaeology, University of Lodz, Poland under supervision of Dr. Piotr A. Nowakowski and University of Grodno, Belarus.
